What We Believe
The Bible is God’s Word to all people. It is the product of human authors under the guidance of God’s Spirit. Because it was inspired by God, the Bible is powerfully relevant to our daily lives.
God exists as one in three expressions: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. Although each member of the Trinity serves different functions, they each possess equal power and authority.
The Church is God’s design for community. The Church is a local group of believers working together to reach one common goal. It is committed to the teachings of Christ and is intent on the all important assignment of making Jesus known.
People are made in the image of God and are worthy of respect and love. People were created to have a relationship with God but became separated in that relationship through sinful disobedience. We are unable to earn relationship with God through our own effort.
The blood of Jesus Christ, shed on the cross, provides the only way of salvation through the forgiveness of sin. Salvation occurs when people place their faith in the death and resurrection of Christ as sufficient payment for their sin. Salvation is a gift from God, and it cannot be earned through our own efforts.
Yes, we said “Baptisms.” Since baptism is an often misunderstood subject in scripture, here is a simple way to look at three of the more prominent baptisms found in the New Testament.
- Baptized into the Body of Christ.
- This baptism takes place at the New Birth.
I Corinthians 12:13
- Water Baptism
- This baptism is an outward symbol of an inward transformation.
- Baptism of the Holy Spirit
- This baptism gives us the power to live out this Christian life.
Matthew 3:11 | Acts 1:5, 8 2:4, 38-39 8:14-17 10:44-47 11:15-17 19:1-6
Man was created to exist forever. He will exist either eternally separated from God by sin or in union with God through forgiveness and salvation. To be eternally separated from God is Hell. To be eternally in union with Him is Heaven. Heaven and Hell are places of eternal existence.
